Based on the 3-R’s: Rigor, Relevance and

Hope International Academy has chosen the following curricula based on the 3-R’s: Rigor, Relevance and Relationship. Rigor encourages our students to think critically, creatively, and more flexibly. Relevance connects goals, interests, and cultural understandings of our students (personal relevance) and connects in some way to real-world topics, problems, and situations (life relevance) with what is taught at Hope International Academy. Relationships are fostered within our school, family and community. These relationships provide a positive impact on academic and social development.

English Language Arts英語科目

Hope International Academy have adopted the U.S. Common Core State Standards for English language arts for our elementary division. Hope International Academy has adopted these standards because:

English language arts CCSS:

  • are rigorous and relevant.
  • set our goals for teaching and learning aspects of the English language.
  • include an extensive list of skills and sub-skills at an appropriate grade level.
  • informs teachers to our students’ needs.
  • the assessments are aligned with our desired student outcomes.

Singapore Maths:

  • are very rigorous, reteachable and relevant.
  • emphasizes the integration of concepts and skills;
  • create a strong foundation in maths.
  • have the core components adopted – the concrete-pictorial-abstract approach in the presentation of mathematical concepts, skills, and problem-solving strategies.
  • incorporate the same approach throughout grade-levels – beginning with concrete, then to pictorial, then to abstract.
